Tucked away on the north side, the ever growing and evolving night club owned by Sean Hanson, and the craft beer bar adds a delicious facet to the longtime downtown Angola institution. Several high-definition televisions make a fun sports and entertainment nook. Close by is the newly expanded stage where regular weekend entertainment features everything from rock’n’roll to country to thumping electronic jams. Keeping the country old-brick walls and authentic wooden trim known to 40 years of Skips’s Lounge partiers,The Venue features a sleek black background, new bathrooms, and expanded recreation area upstairs. The Venue also upped the ante in the kitchen. A new, recently expanded menu put a gourmet touch on the bar food.
With Hanson’s connections, you never know who may stop in for a foamy mug of Bellaire Brown. In April 2017, videographer to the stars Rory Kramer brought the Chainsmokers to town for a video shoot that filled the house with local party VIPs and MTV cameras.
